Whoooooo

I finally bought a Nicecast license and rented a 2222 stream in SL so I’m ready to go (ahem royalties for cover songs pending some kind of sense in the laws that almost cover the area). I will probably be testing it out tomorrow (Thursday) sometime between 1400 and 1600 GMT (0900-1100 EST, 0600-0800 PST/SLT so feel free to listen in (I checked just now in VLC and it looks like you don’t need Second Life to connect, WinAmp etc should be fine). If you only hear piano then you’ll know either “people in the house and not feeling confident” or “the beer went straight to my larynx” :-P Let me know if you sneak a listen ‘cos Nicecast doesn’t report listener numbers from the 2222 stream and I’ve got nothing from 2222 but the connection details lol. You get what you pay for (L$2222 .. approx. $8.72 / £4.36 a month for seemingly limitless broadcasting to 50 listeners at a time, bargain of the month for me lol, viastreaming offers the same with a much lower bitrate cap for about $60 and live365 comes between that and $100 - though live365 does have the advantage of paying royalties, you can’t do interactive, so no requests … which kinda defeats the object of being LIVE LOL … ) :)

Hmms

So, I think I just ordered an iPhone … :-P

I know, I said I wouldn’t etc. But you probably knew I would in the end :) What happened was, t-mobile still haven’t offered me anything better than crappy basic Nokia handsets for a free upgrade. I know that if I phone them and say, “Umm - what can I do to get a K850i free, other than walking?” then they’d probably have one to me by Monday LOL. But, y’know, why should I have to do that? So I got to looking for new pastures, etc, and I so very nearly got wooed by a Pink Blackberry Pearl. But when all adds up on the Blackberry phones … guess what? It actually comes pretty darn close to what you need to pay per month to get a free iPhone. So I went to (wait foorrrrr it …) Carphone Warehouse and decided to see just how far through the iPhone ordering process I could get … and I made it all the way to the end, lol.

So now we’ll just see if it arrives how long it takes to arrive … it said “in stock” but … well … let’s just see lol …

Amazon.co.uk: Elsewhere by William Peter Blatty - okay this is officially an amazing year for books :) (edit: okay I should’ve looked around a bit before posting that, it looks like it’s a short story that was in an anthology almost 10 years ago that I just never got around to getting since I only wanted his part — so it’s still cool that I can now get just his part lol …)

Error of the day lol, an app on Facebook. I beg to differ!!! lol. Though the ambivalence is apt, it’s kind of a “love isn’t the right word, but …” thing :) This song’s been in my head all week, I requested it from Harmonia last night, and today as she was setting up she had the stream running and was singing along to her iTunes (which, incidentally, is just about the most adorable thing in the world lol) and it played again. Now I’ll try loving it again lol … [edit: lol, now last.fm says in my feed that I loved myself (” … twice!”) scurries away to check for last.fm branded spycams in the corners of the bedroom LOL]

Torley’s office hour - hehe it’s lame I know especially to anyone who doesn’t use Second Life I’m sure, but I feel kinda special to have appeared in Torley’s photostream (I’m the Alice in Wonderland by the car at the back). I’ve been on the Here island every day of this week, it’s just amazing and I keep finding new things. I got lost when the talk went into physics and things but it was still … ahem … “enlightening” :-D

Oh Mercy … they finally changed their logo!!! LOL now they are truly one of the greatest music sites on the net and I’m proud to use them to get my stuff out there. Of course, they were awesome and everything before for all they did - but I just couldn’t bring myself to put that awful babyfaced thing on any of my designs!
